On November 23rd 2018, the “Video games, territory and heritage” seminar took place in Bologna. It was the first of a series of literacy events promoted by IVIPRO and dedicated to exploring the role and potential of the video game as a tool for promoting the territory and heritage.
In 2019, the goal is to continue in this direction. This year’s event will last two days (Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September) and will take place in the charming Estense Castle of Ferrara.
IVIPRO DAYS 2019 will host in-depth informative meetings , and international guests will be invited. As in the case of the 2018 seminar, professionals will participate to the event: experts and scholars, developer and game designers, and institutions that have worked with video games to give value to the cultural heritage will be able to share their approach. Case studies and concrete experiences will be examined and analysed. Finally, time will be allowed for networking and meetings between the audience and the guests.
The event is aimed at enthusiasts, students and institutions (museums, local authorities, cultural institutions, associations) interested in exploring the opportunities connected to the use of the video games as a promotional tool. Admission is free, subject to registration.
The event, promoted by IVIPRO with the organisational support of Game Happens, is co-financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region and carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara, a World Heritage City.
