In 2014 Volterra’s ex-mental hospital becomes the source of inspiration for The Town of Light, a video game by LKA.it, an independent studio founded by Luca Dalcò.
The game was published in February 2016 and won two awards at Paris Game Connection 2014: the Game Connection Development Award and the Game Connection European Games Booster, Story & Storytelling category.
Even the Japanese specialized press wrote about this game and Volterra. Such an example demonstrates that video games can successfully take advantage from the territory and at the same time give value to its urban heritage.
